Employability and Student Enterprise Conference, Tuesday 4 July 2017: Invitation and Call for Workshops and Posters
One year after the University’s Employability and Enterprise Strategy was approved, the Careers Service is organising a one day conference for staff from across the University to share some of the latest policy, practice and research in this area.
The conference, to be launched by Professor Suzanne Cholerton, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Learning and Teaching, and held in the Partners Room in the Business School, is designed for anybody with an interest in, or responsibility for, employability and student enterprise, whether in a School or Institute, a professional services team or the Students’ Union.
While staff will be joined by a range of external speakers, one of the features of the conference will be opportunities for sharing ideas and good practice with colleagues, and also to form new and useful relationships.
“I hope that you will be able to attend this event on 4 July” says Director of the Careers Service Marc Lintern. “I am delighted that we will be joined by speakers such as Stephen Isherwood (Chief Executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters), labour market expert Dr Charlie Ball (Higher Education Careers Service’s Unit) and Dr Bob Gilworth (Director, London University Careers Group, and leading one of HEFCE’s national Learning Gain projects)”.
“However, we are also keen to share examples of what colleagues across the University are themselves doing, and to build our community of practice”, added Marc.
To this end, the Careers Service is asking colleagues to contribute to the event by either sharing information about their research in employability and student enterprise through a poster, or to contribute to workshops by sharing examples of employability and enterprise education.
If you would like to contribute to the conference by sharing your research or practice and for any further queries, please contact Naomi Oosman-Watts.
