Newcastle University Ageing Generations Education (NUAGE) module

As part of Newcastle University’s commitment to ageing as a societal challenge, Newcastle University offers undergraduate students from any academic background the opportunity to undertake a multidisciplinary module about ageing. Newcastle University Ageing Generations Education (NUAGE) was developed through collaboration between students, staff and older people and was shortlisted for a Higher Education Academy (HEA) national award in 2016.

Completion of NUAGE will mean 10 additional credits (in addition to your degree programme) and will be recognised on your degree transcript. Undertaking this supernumerary module requires the permission of your degree programme director.

You will receive a total of 12 timetabled teaching sessions in semester 2 which will be mixture of lectures, seminars and workshops, and will include engagement with older members of the public in person and online. Teaching sessions are held during 'twilight' hours (5-8pm) to allow students from any course to attend.
